Before DialogSignal, Ahsan spent 10 years delivering for Saudi and GCC teams — briefs turned into finished work, in Arabic and English, for businesses that move fast and settle things in chat. That work became AI operations: the unglamorous half of artificial intelligence, where a model has to survive contact with a real company. Which work runs locally and which goes to a frontier model. Where the data boundary sits. Which step a human signs off before anything reaches a customer.

Those 10 years produced the same observation every time. The decision that mattered had already been made — in a thread, weeks earlier, by people who no longer remembered the exact wording. The work had happened. Nothing was holding it. Every tool built to fix that asked the business to stop using the app it actually lives in.

DialogSignal is that gap closed without asking anyone to move. And it is built for far more than the Gulf: a company run out of a messaging app with no memory of what it agreed is as true in Lagos, Jakarta or São Paulo as it is in Riyadh.

A model can now read every word a business has ever exchanged. What it still cannot do is decide which of those words mattered — and I am not convinced it ever fully will. So the interesting question stopped being what the technology is capable of, and became how much of its work a person can put their name to. Build for that answer and AI stops being a demonstration and becomes something people quietly rely on.

Naeem spent his career inside the systems large institutions depend on, at Intergraph and Atheeb Intergraph Saudi Company. Network asset management for Saudi Telecom. GIS platforms for the Royal Commission in Al Jubail. The emergency-response system for Saudi Aramco. Asset information management for Abu Dhabi Municipality, from Dubai.

Doing that for 23 years teaches one thing above everything else: writing the software is the easy part. Being trusted with data an operation cannot afford to lose — and being able to prove afterwards exactly what happened to it — is the actual job. It is also, until now, something only an organisation with a procurement department could buy.

That is what makes this worth doing at this point in a career rather than at the start of one. The same discipline — evidence, custody, an auditable record — pointed at the messaging layer that millions of ordinary businesses already run on. It is why DialogSignal had row-level security, audit records and deletion flows before it had a marketing budget.

An organisation is mostly its memory — what it agreed, what it owes, what it has already learned the hard way. For most of my career, only the largest could afford to keep one properly. What has changed is not that machines became clever; it is that keeping a faithful record finally costs almost nothing. A thing that valuable should not stay with the few who could always pay for it.
